Lyrics inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov's "The Master and Margarita"
lyrics
“Heaven sent for Margarita
and it took in whole her glitter
while the Master was alone,
sitting naked by the phone.
He was waiting for her call,
but he only felt her fall.
"Margo, see you back tonight,
I am begging you to fight, forever!"
Ch.: "I will keep receiving
all this love you're giving,
it's the only thing
I cherish in this world.
Run away from heaven,
don't look at the seven,
join me in eternal
peace, escape the third"
So the Master talked for long,
he pretended he was strong,
though he sensed his Margarita
was away on the billionth metre;
to the peace she had preferred
light forever, fuck alerts,
no more love, forget the Master,
rip the sky and ride it faster, forever!
Ch.: "Take me back to clinic,
maybe there the Cynic
shall explain to me why
Margarita's gone.
I am pretty sure
she was nicely lured
by the light of Him who
proved her she'd been wrong"
"Masquerade, nothing's real",
said the Master loud,
"can you see the seventh seal,
can you smell the ground?
I will die, you will die
but I know it's fake,
though I’m sure Margo's mine,
still inside I
break down this hell,
burn heaven well,
tear down these walls,
let's smash the world
for it is false.
When the last word he said
reached the darkened sky
lightning stroke and his love
stood amidst the rye.
Lifting hands to her face,
sighing "Margarita",
he could touch only air –
the mirage was bitter.”
(Solo: Nikola)
Life is dirty, blind and mean
and this story’s so unclean;
public images of fighters,
dancing on the graves of writers;
do you talk as in a novel,
do you choose a pen or shovel?
Dig your gardens, dig your brains,
they’ll be wrapped in rusty chains, forever!
Ch.: “You know why they call me
“Master” – that’s enthralling:
I foresee your future,
I revive your past”.
It was all he told me
when I saw him wandering,
how they knew it was him? –
writings on my chest.
