Long ago, on younger Earth
when our mothers gave it their first births,
and the Spirit was created,
as the Matter was reborn.
Long ago, on younger trees
we were drying our memories
but the sun was very strong then,
and it burned them into ash.

We were crawling through the wastelands
and would just surrender when we felt
shivers which we wondered what meant
and from where and by whom they were sent.

Many roads in many lands,
many lights in many different hands,
how to choose the road to wisdom
and the light with furthest range?

Then we learned to keep a secret
and to stare into each other’s face,
to caress it and to kiss it
and to float into each others’s space.

Long ago, when we were very brave
and the time had come the world to save
free from everything that hid the good,
bold and fearless on the edge we stood;
and it was that day we realised
that the shivers were just to disguise
all the emptiness and evil cold
that we could fight but some didn’t want to.
